Interactive Design

Definition:
“The design of everything that is both digital and interactive.” (Moggridge, Bill. Design Interactions, MIT Press Cambridge Massachusetts 2006)
Interactive Design is the discipline of improving the ergonomics of interfaces of and Systems, it is the design within a digital artefacts interface.

Interactive designers have to fully understand the cognitive processes and psyche of it’s user base and design accordingly to create a successfully design, for example a Interactive Designer may incorporate the use of metaphors in their design in order to aid the users interaction/experience with the software.


Examples:
electronic devices, websites, sofware.
